Under socialism buses won’t have ads on them but they will each have a name and a unique livery and interior and we will romanticise them like ships

They decommission the bus I’ve been using for 15 years and I come home to cry dramatically about how they’re killing my boy, my poor boy who’s only crime is being an old boy in a younger, faster world. I am inconsolable for weeks. There is a beautiful funeral/recycling service, people pour out drinks and throw lilies upon his temporary memorial. I say there will never be another like him. I immediately fall in love with the new bus and everyone around me realizes they will have to deal with this exact level of theatrics about once a decade.
